Pensacola man sentenced to 25 years in state prison for child abuse

A Pensacola man has been sentenced to state prison for child abuse involving an inappropriate cellphone video.

Circuit Court Judge Jan Shackelford sentenced Eddie Jerome Galloway, 54, to 25 years in state prison, followed by five years of sexual offender probation, according to a news release from State Attorney Bill Eddins.

Galloway entered a plea of no contest to one count of sexual battery while in a position of familial authority.

The charge stemmed from an incident involving a mother’s discovery of “a concerning video” that Galloway had taken of her child on a cellphone, according to the news release.

The child disclosed the sexual abuse to investigators at the Gulf Coast Kid’s House.
